Supervision & Consultation

Clinical Supervision

Having had the privilege of being both tutor and lecturer on the Foundation in Systemic Practice Course in Birmingham, I continue to meet with students studying on all levels of training. I thoroughly enjoy meeting with clinicians from and within a variety of different contexts. My approach is that of inclusion, exploration, and relational risk taking, where all ideas and experiences are welcome.  Trainings in Sport Science, Psychology, and Psychotherapy influence my work as does ongoing learning in Yoga and other forms of spiritual practice. When thinking relationally, I include the body as another context for consideration. As an avid traveler, I see supervision as a opportunity to both share and learn from the experiences and knowledge of clients, colleagues, and communities within which I am situated, and those I am not. I recognise the importance of acknowledging the influence of historical social structures, grand narratives, and dimensions of difference, when navigating unknown territory with respect and curiosity. I offer supervision both in person and online and adhere to the AFT Supervision and CPD Policies participating in regular training and supervision of supervision. Should you wish to discuss options for working together then please contact me on the details provided. I look forward to talking with you.

Supervision and Consultation Approach

I offer consultation and training to teams working in psychological services. Bespoke packages are designed with consideration for the specific needs of those involved. Previous training days have included Genogram Workshops for Family Support Workers  and Reflective Practice for staff working in a Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit. Together we co-create a context in which everyone can feel safe to learn, whilst attending to aspirations for ongoing professional development. Should you wish to discuss options for working together then please contact me on the details provided. I look forward to hearing from you.

Testimonials From Supervisees

Kyla thank you for your unwavering support over the last two years. Without your enthusiasm, creativity, and encouragement I don’t think I would have got to this point. Our work together is one of the things I will miss most from CAMHS.

Thank you so much Kyla for all your wonderful support to me over the last 6 months. I’ve really valued your advice and, humour, links to theory and the time you’ve taken to listen to me, energy you give and ability to see the bigger picture. I feel inspired by all your thoughts about the body in therapy as well. I hope we get to work together again sometime and hope to see you soon.
